A stunning sunset on a Hawaiian beach became the inspiration for this large triptych painting.
This large painting was originally inspired by a breathtaking sunset at Polihale Beach, a remote spot of the farthest west coast of Kauai island, in the Hawaiian islands. My husband and I spent several weeks camping here, blissing out on the beach, mesmerized daily by these painterly sunsets. When you’re living outside in nature, the sunset is like the biggest show of the day, and they always seemed to go down too fast.
Here’s a pic of me and the lovely new owner, Kristin, after installing this triptych above her fireplace. She feels this three-paneled painting appears as a brilliant faux sunset from window panes.
